Well rested and in control. Network administrators who want to make the best of late-night emergency calls can get more sleep, thanks to the Remote Console and Port Manager. It gives you in-band and/or out-of-band access to RS-232 console ports and maintenance ports on up to six UNIXr servers, routers, and other pieces of network equipment. You can also use it to control power and reboot up to four servers, cameras, and other remote devices.
Call each port by name. With this slender 1U box, you can remotely control and manage up to six RS-232 servers and devices. You can access each port individually, by number, name, or group. Configure each port for passwords, data rates, parity, and other operating parameters. You can also collect buffered data and a variety of other administrative functions. Plus, the Remote Console and Port Manager features full matrix capabilities so any port can connect to any other port.
You have the power. You can control each of the four A/C power outlets. Assign plug names, check plug status, switch plugs on and off, and reboot them. You can also assign sequenced power-up times.
Just call. The Console features an internal 33.6-kbps modem with automatic rate detection from 300 bps to 115.2 kbps. A Web broswer provides easy setup and operation. And you can run up to four inbound TelnetT connections simultaneously. A password feature prevents unauthorized access. You can also assign passwords and dialback numbers.
Capture data. A buffer mode enables you to capture and store incoming 32 KB of data for each port. You can view and save the information or erase it. This is useful in analyzing alarms or other critical information.
