- Local Console - enables the computer or KVM switch to be controlled by a local keyboard, monitor, mouse and audio.
- Remote KVM switch - enables the screen keyboard, mouse and audio of the users PC to control both the desktop PC and the remote PC/KVM switch.
- Video compensation - Adjustable video compensation amplifiers enable the video sharpness to be adjusted using the keyboard
- Keyboard control - The cable equalization are controlled in configuration mode using the keyboard attached to the remote (KVM console-end) unit.
- Indicators - The remote and local units are fitted with a link/activity indicator that shows the link status and indicate keyboard and mouse data activity.
The AdderLink Gold ALGTX/ALGRX CAT5 KVM extender offers KVM extension with remote KVM switch and local control. The AdderLink Gold extender enables a computer or KVM switch to be controlled remotely over up to 200m (650 ft) of UTP cable. The ALGTX/ALGRX features a feed through port at the local transmitter that enables a local KVM console to be used to control the computer or KVM switch connected to the local unit. The local and remote KVM consoles contend for computer access (ie they both get the same video picture) although the local console may grab exclusive access if necessary.
The integral KVM switch fitted to the remote (receiver) unit enables the remote KVM console to select between locally or remotely connected computers. AdderLink Gold extenders are fitted with microphone and stereo audio support and are supplied as standard with a range of other useful features including password security. Rack mount kits are available for both local and remote units.
