All ports on the Port Manager Switch are active simultaneously. This means you can, for instance, configure a remote bridge while still receiving information through other ports.
Configure the Port Manager Switch using simple commands from a terminal or PC with terminal-emulation software. Configuration and Status screens show activity for one or all ports. Save system configuration to disk for routine configuration or emergency backup. Even change configuration remotely via modem-you don't need to be on site to get your network up and running again. The switch automatically transmits an AT Refresh command to the attached modem, so autoanswer is always on to answer your call.
Port Manager Switches can be configured with 256- or 512-KB nonvolatile, dynamically allocated buffers, which prevent data from being lost during power failure.
